Full Update Open

Read these instructions on your phone, tablet or computer and do the actions on your tv box.
Read the instructions carefully and follow them closely.
Every step is important.

First: What Version of Chrome Is On Your TV Box?

You should still be in Settings-Apps from checking to see what version of Kodi is on your tv box. If not, go back into Settings then Apps. Scroll to Chrome and click it to see what version is on your tv box. On some tv boxes, Chrome can be found under Show System Apps. If you have a much older box that hasn’t been updated in a few years, you may not have Chrome on your tv box. You can use the instructions below to install it. DO NOT USE BROWSER, use Chrome. You will need a Chrome version starting with 80 or higher in order to successfully download files. If the version of Chrome on your tv box is less than 80, it needs to be updated. Click here for instructions to install or update Chrome.

NEW! Turn off Auto-Updates in the Play Store

If you are signed into the Google Play Store, go in and turn off auto-updates. Kodi 19 was recently released and is not compatible with our Kodi 18.9 programming. Auto-updates must be turned off so that Kodi 19 does not auto-update and wipe Home Arcade’s Kodi programming. Click here to see how to turn off auto-updates in the Play Store.

Second:  VERY IMPORTANT! Clear The File Browser

Since the release of Kodi 18, it is very important that you clear the download folder in file browser before starting anything. If you don’t do this, you will get an error as your tv box is trying to pull old files.

How to clear the download folder in File Browser video link here.

Have File Explorer instead of File Browser? Follow these steps.
Click on File Explorer.
Click on Internal Flash.
Scroll to Download.
Press and hold OK on your mini keyboard or remote control. A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll to Delete and click OK.
Press back or Escape to exit back to the main screen.

If you have one of the very few tv boxes that doesn’t have File Browser, you will need to factory reset your tv box to clear old files. This is a more involved process so you’ll want to really look under Apps/My Apps to be sure your box doesn’t have File Browser. How to factory reset instructions found here.
