Kodi Only Update

Read these instructions on your phone, tablet or computer and do the actions on your tv box.
Read the instructions carefully and follow them closely.
Every step is important.

First: What Version of Chrome Is On Your TV Box?

Start on the main screen of your tv box, not in Kodi. Go to Settings then Apps. Scroll to Chrome and click it to see what version is on your tv box.

On some tv boxes, Chrome can be found under Show System Apps.

If you have a much older box that hasn’t been updated in a few years, you may not have Chrome on your tv box. You can use the instructions below to install it.

You will need a Chrome version starting with 80 or higher in order to successfully download files.

If the version of Chrome on your tv box is less than 80, it needs to be updated. Click here for instructions to install or update Chrome.

Second:  VERY IMPORTANT! Clear The File Browser

Since the release of Kodi 18, it is very important that you clear the download folder in file browser before starting anything. If you don’t do this, you will get an error as your tv box is trying to pull old files.

How to clear the download folder File Browser video link here.

Have File Explorer instead of File Browser? Follow these steps.
Click on File Explorer.
Click on Internal Flash.
Scroll to Download.
Press and hold OK on your mini keyboard or remote control. A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll to Delete and click OK.
Press back or Escape to exit back to the main screen.

If you have one of the very few tv boxes that doesn’t have File Browser, you will need to factory reset your tv box to clear old files. This is a more involved process so you’ll want to really look under Apps/My Apps to be sure your box doesn’t have File Browser. How to factory reset instructions found here.

Third: Uninstall Kodi

1. Start on the main opening screen of your tv box.
Scroll over to Settings.
On some boxes, you may need to then go to Advanced or Other or More Settings.
Some boxes may have a picture of a gear or screwdriver instead of the word Settings.

2. Scroll to Apps. Click it.
On some boxes, you’ll need to click See All Apps.

3. Scroll to Kodi.
Click it.
Scroll to Uninstall and click it.
Some boxes require clicking OK and OK.

4. Exit back to the main screen.

Fourth: Download the Latest Version of Kodi

1. On your tv box, open Chrome. Don’t use Browser, it won’t let you open links.
You may find Chrome on the main screen of your tv box if not, look under Apps/MyApps.

2.  In Chrome, type in homearcadeinabox.com.
Go to the Login tab found on the top menu bar.
Login using the username and password you chose when you registered.

3. Go to the drop down under Download Pages called “Download Page A”.
If you can’t access Download Page A, we’ll need to update your settings. Contact us to let us know you need access to Download Page A.

4. If the Home Arcade website is already open from a past update, refresh the page.

5. Scroll down and click on Kodi Download.

NOTE: If you see the message “Chrome needs storage access to download files”, follow these steps:
-Click Update Permissions or Continue
-Click Allow (if your tv box doesn’t show Allow but instead opens a new screen like the one shown here, click this link)
-On some tv boxes, the permission updates and you can move to step 6
-On others, you need to close the internet browser window to update the permission
-Open the internet browser window again, type in homearcadeinabox.com and click on Download Page A
-Repeat Step 4

6. You may be prompted to click on Download. If so, do.
Allow any permissions, some boxes ask, some don’t.

7. Click on Home Arcade Wizard.
Allow any permissions.

Fifth: Install Kodi

1. Press the home key to get back to the main screen.

If you’re having a hard time streaming, shows buffering, slow to start, not many links to choose from, we recommend signing up for Real Debrid. Info about Real Debrid is below.

Unless you have a VPN (you’ll know if you do) or an active Real Debrid subscription on your tv box, do not choose a link that says “Torrent”. These are file-sharing links that play really well but will get a warning letter from your internet provider. Typically these links are found in the Kodi add-ons but may be in the Android Apps as well.

The first time you open Kodi, wait a minute to allow it to build its skin shortcuts menu. Don’t scroll around or open anything until you see the temperature appear in the bottom right corner beside the date. When the temperature appears, the box is ready to go. Now you can open apps, etc.

Real Debrid – Having trouble getting a show to start or experiencing buffering? Read here

We’ve noticed that there seem to be fewer free links and more people streaming these days which is leading to bottlenecking and buffering. If you find you’re having a hard time getting a stream to play or are experiencing a lot of buffering, you’ll want to sign up for Real Debrid.

What is Real Debrid? It’s a premium streaming service that is simple to set up, simple to use and makes streaming a dream!

We wouldn’t stream without it and strongly recommend it to everyone who streams.

There’s no guessing as to which link will be a good stream. Real Debrid links are shown in a different color than the regular white links or labeled RD or Real Debrid. Using Real Debrid links, we are able to stream links with 1080p and 5.1 surround sound with no issues.

We’ve noticed some of the Kodi add-ons are now requiring a Real Debrid subscription. If you see a link that says RD Only or Real Debrid Only, that link won’t play unless you have Real Debrid.

It’s a great value at 16 euros for a 6 month subscription, that’s a one time payment of about $24 CAD for 6 months of use.

This link shows you how to sign up for Real Debrid and connect to your account to your tv box’s apps and add-ons. If you prefer written instructions, use this link.
Note: Titanium is now called Typhoon. A new app, Viva TV, has been added since this video was made. Set up for Viva TV is the same as shown for Cyberflix with the exception of getting to Settings. Settings in Viva is found on the top menu bar.

Their website is http://www.real-debrid.com.
